The number of dessert blogs I read keeps expanding. This recipe is from Bake or Break, called Butterscotch Cream Cheese Swirl Bars modified from the original source of the Magnolia Bakery Cookbook. I have the sequel book, More from Magnolia, which has given me mixed results. I was very intrigued by the butterscotch and cream cheese combination, which is not one I am familiar with. I halved the recipe and used an 8 x 8 square pan. This worked okay, but I think I would prefer a slightly larger pan so that the height was not quite as tall. These were quite tasty and I would certainly make them again. My co-workers devoured them in less than 1.5 hours so I assume they also enjoyed them. I may play with this flavor combination again.
